GREEN-minded residents are being urged to keep hold of their glass when using a Wychavon District Council recycling scheme.
The project, beginning this month, will encourage residents to separate their rubbish into two sacks.
Plastics and cans can be collected in a clear sack with paper and textiles in a purple one - but no glass.
Sharon Casswell, Wychavon's client services manager, said the move was down to safety.
"Although we can collect a range of items we cannot take glass for safety reasons.
"But we would still like residents to continue using our bottle banks," she said.
The recycling scheme will start to reach homes on Monday, February 10, with all properties set to be covered by mid-March.
Starter packs are currently being sent to homes to explain how the environmental initiative works. For further details on the scheme call 01386 565245.
