SHOPPERS were submerged with tales of adventure and wonder as they walked down Worcester's High Street.

Worcester Divers took to the streets to try and encourage the public to be more adventurous in their free-time.

Members of the club donned wetsuits and snorkels and stood outside the Guildhall to make their recruitment drive a little bit different.

"We're quite an active group," said Chris Redman of Worcester Divers.

"We dive all round the UK and go abroad. We've been to Cuba and the Red Sea and we're always looking at new places to dive.

"We've got our own RIB, which is a purpose-built diving boat, in the UK, which means we can go anywhere in British waters."

The group meets every Thursday at Sansome Walk Swimming Pool where they play underwater hockey - Octopush.

There is also the chance for scuba first-timers to take part in a try-dive to see if life underwater is something for them.

Worcester Divers have hooked up with the Evening News to offer readers the chance to win a try-dive for themselves and a friend.
