Swindon Supermarine 1 Redditch United 2

IT'S time to heave a sigh of relief after Redditch did the business down in Wiltshire.

Much had been said by United manager Rod Brown about placing too much importance on individual results but nevertheless it was heart-in-the-mouth time when Swindon Supermarine took the lead inside a minute.

When a Steve Bennett foray and shot was half cleared by Quentin Townsend, Dominic Dunton rattled Neil Olden's crossbar and home debutant Adam Giles was first to react, scoring close in with a diving header.

But the Reds refused to wilt and dominated the remainder with Supermarine hacking off their line three times before Peter Sutton took over.

The Solihull man certainly knows how to make an impact - after a hat-trick on his sole loan appearance for Studley, Sutton claimed two on his Reds bow from his favoured position behind the front two.

The first came on 26 minutes when Paul Danks, back from injury, found Sutton on the left hand side of the area and the new boy galloped forward before firing firmly across Liam Bull into the far corner.

Neil Olden had to be alert to deny Giles after the break but then it was all Redditch as Lee Booth missed a hat-trick of chances and Craig Harris came close before Booth motored down the right and Matty Southwick, who had a quiet debut, delivered an inviting cross for Sutton who finished decisively at the near post after 59 minutes.

Redditch survived a late spell of pressure from the hosts but ran out deserved, and relieved winners.
