WHETHER the monarchy should be abolished was the topic of a lively debate between students from two Bromsgrove schools.
Pupils from Bromsgrove School proposed the motion "That the United Kingdom becomes a republic," and "The Monarchy be Abolished."
While, teenagers from North Bromsgrove High School opposed the controversial motion in the annual Michael Holt Debate, which was held at the Rotary Club of North Worcestershire.

The event, which took place in December, was organised and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Bromsgrove.
Club spokesman John Mackay said: "The ensuing parry and thrust was very well presented by both sides.
"The quality of organisation of thought and the ability to think and express their thoughts on their feet made the final decision of the judges being very difficult, with North Bromsgrove were declared the winners.
"Both schools must be congratulated on the very high standard that was shown by both teams," added Mr Mackay.
