TWO new dance classes have been launched in Droitwich to help Spa residents of all ages get back into shape this New Year.

Dance at 8, which already runs successful classes in Worcester, Malvern and Pershore, has branched out in the town with classes in salsa and pop.

The adult salsa classes, which will be held at Chawson First School, are open to absolute beginners wanting to learn Latin-style grooves.

The course, which combines the opportunity to exercise with learning Ricky Martin style moves, starts on January 14 and last eight weeks. It runs from 7.30 until 8.30pm and no partner is required.

However, for youngsters who do not wish to be upstaged by their mums and dads there is also a pop dancing class, which will be launched on the same evening.

The course, which will also be held at the Wych Road school, will give youngsters the opportunity to learn all the latest moves from top music videos.

Open to boys and girls aged between six and 14, the sessions will run from 6.30 until 7.30pm and parents are welcome to stay and watch.

Also lasting eight weeks, youngsters can join at any time and do not require special footwear just buckets of enthusiasm.

Both salsa and pop dancing classes cost £3 per session.
