REDDITCH United are set to renew hostilities with neighbours Stourport Swifts over a new transfer target.

Former Blues and QPR hitman Dennis Bailey, best remembered as the last visiting player to score a hat-trick at Old Trafford, is wanted by United boss Rod Brown.

The forward, freed by Halesowen Town, played in last week's 1-1 draw against Nigel Clough's Burton Albion but scored for Swifts in Saturday's draw with Telford United.

Stourport player-boss Tim Langford wanted Bailey for last night's friendly against Worcester City but the in-demand hitman was also wanted by Redditch, to face Stafford Rangers.

The Dr Martens Western clubs, at each other's throats since Brown swapped Walshes Meadow for the Valley last season, have yet to learn the valuation set on former West Brom winger Alex Cowley, who moved in the same direction in the close season.

And FA tribunal are set to decide on the fee United must pay Swifts for his services.

The Lambeth-born striker started at Farnborough Town before a pro career incorporating moves to Crystal Palace, Blues for £80,000, QPR for £175,000, Gillingham, Bristol Rovers, Charlton, Watford and Brentford.

Bailey's non-league career has taken him to Cheltenham Town, Forest Green Rovers and Tamworth.
