FORMER United boss Rob Smith has been installed as manager of Alliance outfit Willenhall Town.

Smith left the club towards the end of last season under a cloud.

He claims he was dismissed shortly after signing a contract and is in dispute with the club over wages he claims are owed him.

Chairman Rod Laight claims Smith resigned.

Smith took over at the Black Country outfit in time to take charge for tomorrow's match at Boldmere.

After a promising stint last season, manager Martin Thomas had a bad start and was dismissed three weeks ago.

Smith's remit will be to turn the side around just five wins this season.
