A WORCESTERSHIRE animal centre is appealing to animal lovers not to forget the unwanted pets in its care this Christmas.
Bromsgrove's Blue Cross Centre says hundreds of cats, dogs and rabbits will spend Christmas in its care, while pets all over the country are lavished with presents.
"Many British people regard their pet as a member of the family that should receive a Christmas present just like the rest of us," said Blue Cross manager Neil Edwards.
"It is heart-warming to see that Britain is still such a nation of animal lovers, but spare a thought at this time of year for the thousands of abandoned and unwanted pets."
Anyone wanting to donate treats, toys, bedding or money can drop into The Blue Cross in Wildmoor Lane, Catshill, Bromsgrove.
