A FREE course for volunteer leaders and coaches will be taking place every Thursday for 15 weeks starting January 30 and ending May 8, 2003 at Sport Martley from 5-7pm.

The Community Sports Leader Award course is open to anyone over the age of 16 who wishes to develop their sporting interests and skills to enable them to get involved in organising and assisting with the provision of sport in the community.

This practical course will teach you to plan, deliver and evaluate sport sessions across a range of activities, developing your organisational and leadership skills.

In addition to the taught units you will be required to carry out ten hours of voluntary leadership experience.

This could be through a sports club you are currently linked to or the Active Communities programme.

The Active Communities programme aims to increase young people's participation levels in physical activity through the creation of new activities and by improving access to existing activities and resources. It is funded by Sport England Rural Transport Partnership. Communities Against Drugs and Malvern Hills District Council.

The course will be lead by various tutors who have several years coaching and teaching experience.
