POLICE have arrested a woman and four men from Pershore and Bromsgrove amid allegations of international drug trafficking involving a haul worth £2m.
National Crime Squad detectives made the five arrests as part of a major inquiry being jointly run by HM Customs into smuggling drugs from the continent into the United Kingdom.
Officers seized the Class A and B drugs at Luton Airport yesterday which are now undergoing forensic examinations.
Officers swooped at addresses in Bromsgrove, Pershore and Coventry and the suspects were taken for questioning at police stations across the Midlands.
Nearly a ton of cannabis hidden in industrial heaters has already by seized by custom officers at the entrance of the Channel Tunnel in France as part of the operation.
