Evesham and District Airgun League

LEAGUE leaders Offenham benefited from the high scoring draw between Lygon Arms and Stanton Club to extend their lead at the summit to four points.

Steph Anderson recorded her third maximum of the season in a 287-251 win over Bidford RBL for whom John Shrimpton scored 46 in matches that marked the halfway stage of the campaign.

Four shooters managed 49 in the top match with Jackie Laming and Eddy Howell leading the way for Stanton, while Carl Ambrose and Craig Whiting's efforts helped Lygon earn a draw.

Campden RBL pocketed a couple of easy points at Broadway FC where Bob Pitcher and Bob Winkett both scored 48 for the winners.

A single point separated Badsey Rec and Bengeworth SSC with Frazer Wilks hitting a crucial 48 for the latter as they edged out their hosts for whom Ashley Green recorded 47.

There was better news for the village's other representatives as RBL won easily by 25 points at Nomads. Ian Davies and Gordon Evans hit 47 for the winners.

The first leg of the Mabel Feast Memorial Cup saw good shooting from both sides but it was Evesham who will take a six-point advantage into the second leg against Redditch.

Laming and Green both notc-hed maximum 25s for the visitors, while W Chapman and G Wittingham were the home side's best with 24.
