SIX Evesham archers attended Droitwich Archery Club's annual Worcester held at the Perdiswell Leisure Centre.

For the first time, a double Worcester was shot, ten dozen arrows with a maximum score of 600.

Due to the rarity of the round a full entry was attracted with several of the Great Britain team in action.

In the gents' recurve section, Peter Williams came third behind two British team members with a total of 584. Malcolm Porter was fourth with 582.

Lisa Illingworth continued her good form by taking second place in the ladies' recurve with 554 with Barbara Stanway third.

Ian Trout won the gents' limited compound trophy setting a county record of 556.

This year's Christmas dinner and presentations was held at the Queens Head at Iron Cross near Salford Priors where, in the absence of club chairman and president, John Appleton gave a fine speech and made the presentations.

The main award was the annually presented Victor Ludorum Trophy which requires not only the winner to be consistent but also accurate over 12 months. The winner after many near misses was club coach Ian Trout.

The first of the club's indoor tournaments was the Bill Clemson trophy shoot - a double Portsmouth. Peter Willi-ams won the gents trophy and Linda Haines the ladies.
