Evesham and District Association

SDM Spinners and Evesham Emperors are turning Division 3A of the H20 Plum-bing and Heating League into a two-horse race.

The former extended their unbeaten run to ten matches but had a fright from Littleton Rock and Rollers.

Bob Beswick and Steve Perry both defeated Andy Bryant but lost to Spinners' No 1 Luke Moffat. Perry and James Coy took the first two games of the doubles 11-8, 11-7 but Bryant and Moffat fought back to win 11-7, 11-4, 11-9.

The Emperors kept up the pressure with victories over Wyre Predators (5-0), Littleton Bulldogs (4-1) and a 3-2 defeat of Evesham Dynamos for whom Anatoli Phoursa and Mike Williams won a marathon doubles 11-8, 10-12, 6-11, 11-7, 19-17 against Rob Sinderberry and Bob Bryant.

Evesham Eagles' Alan Chung and Zak Wilson are the current in-form side after five wins on the bounce. The latest was a 3-2 victory over St Peters when Wilson got the better of Don Gould 5-11, 11-8, 11-7, 13-11.

Basement side SDM Firebolts avoided a whitewash for only the second time this season when they succumbed 3-2 to Littleton Blades.

Leanne Sully was unbeaten for the winners but Matthew Powell and Liam Wilson, playing up from Division 3B, both overcame Stephanie Beswick to earn the Firebolts two points.

In Division 3B, Littleton Bulldozers extended their unbeaten run to nine matches but Evesham Swans' Rachael Sellick defeated David Targett 11-6, 11-9, 11-5 - his first defeat of the season.

The Bulldozers lead the division by three points and still have a game in hand over Wyre Snips who suffered only their second defeat of the season against the Swans. Snips, missing Craig Pitcher, lost 4-1 with Rachael Sellick again unbeaten.

Evesham Swallows' Liam Wilson, Katie Sellick and Vicki Rigg made it five wins out of six and, with a game in hand, are still on the fringe of the promotion race.

Blackminster Bees hadn't picked up a point since the first game of the season but, despite losing to clubmates Bats, still picked up two points in a 3-2 defeat. Jenny Bell and Lauren Orme both beat Ian Piotrowski.

SDM Ravens' Daniel and Craig Young recorded two rare victories 3-2 over Littleton Leopards and SDM Lionesses.

Little Monkeys' Ross Pankhurst accounted for Matt Ross and Joe Watson but Blackminster Bullets won 3-2 to leapfrog clubmates Bats to make them the top Blackmin-ster side.
