I BELIEVE the long-awaited Wyre Piddle bypass will be opened shortly, and, contrary to previous understanding, the road through Wyre Piddle will remain open pending a public enquiry.
Fine, that seems fair enough, adopting a wait-and-see policy. But to impose no weight restriction surely is ludicrous - the heavy lorries will still come thundering through.
We have just returned from holiday where we encountered some very intelligent monkeys. Perhaps they could be brought out to assist in future decision-making and maybe stop any more time and money being wasted.
As a resident of Wyre Piddle, I am completely bewildered by this whole situation and can only wonder at the sanity of the powers-that-be.
