SO Mike Foster likes to announce with glee that Worcestershire schoolchildren are only under-funded by £100 per-pupil compared to Birmingham.

Sorry if I miss the point here, but aren't we supposed to treat our children equally? Or as Mr Blair wrote (Eric not Tony) in Animal Farm "some animals are more equal than others".

Wasn't it the Labour Minister for Higher Education who said, regarding university top-up fees, "why should a dustman sub a doctor's son at university?"

Well Mr Foster, why should we sub Birmingham children to a better education?
