STOURPORT Swifts' fortunes have taken another turn for the better with the signing of an England U-18s trialist.

Robbie Taylor, 17, has been unveiled as the young player boss Dave Titterton has been tracking.

Titterton expects to put the starlet on contract after raiding his former club Ludlow Town.

Talented Taylor, who can play in attack or on the left wing, is still involved with national trials.

Titterton said: "Robbie's very direct with lots of pace and skill but he's very raw and not the end product at all.

"Hopefully by next season he will have adapted to our level but this is a step up. He will be on the bench to start with."

Swifts have turned around their form with two victories in a row, 4-0 at Cirencester and the weekend's fine 2-1 success at Gresley.

Now Titterton hopes they can show off their new-found belief at Walshes Meadow with the visit of in-form Gloucester on Saturday.

He said: "I feel the win over Gresley was more important than the one before as it was a case of could we do it again?

"The performance was better as Gresley are a good strong team, especially at home, and we had to match them physically.

"We have still got to brush up on our tactics when the opponents have got the ball but we will work on that in training.

"Gloucester are playing really well at the moment and we will have to be on our mettle.

"There's a good buzz around the club and I just want more people to come down and watch us."

Defender Jan Mulders and midfielder Leon Blake return from suspension on Saturday but striker Michael Moore (groin) is unlikely to be fit to play.
