FEARS over children's safety have prompted Bewdley town councillors to recommend refusal on a plan for a new church and day nursery school.
Applicant Jason Heron submitted a bid for planning permission to convert Dog House in Dog Lane, which is currently used as a snooker hall, with offices over.
Half of the ground floor would be used as a church while the other half would be Riverside Nursery School, which would open from 9am until 6pm.
But Bewdley Town Council voted to recommend the plan be refused due to fears over children having to enter and exit onto a busy area of the Dog Lane car park.
The application will now be considered by Wyre Forest District Council's planning (development control) committee.
