Littleton 4, Handsworth Utd 0

LITTLETON continue to set the pace in Division Two of the Mid-land Combination after Saturday's emphatic victory.

They have now reached the halfway stage of the league campaign and are two points ahead of Barnt Green who, have a game in hand.

This was Littleton's 11th successive win, including seven in the league during which time they have let in only two goals and scored 48 as they stretched their run of clean sheets to six.

Littleton went ahead after ten minutes when Darren Reeves converted from close-range following a cross from Nick Burrows.

Immediately after, Michael McDo-nald in the Handsworth goal made a good save from a Matthew Edwards piledriver. This was quickly followed by an even better save from a crisp 20-yard half-volley from Stuart Sollis.

However, it was the keeper who made the error that gave Littleton their second on 33 minutes as his weak clearance presented Billy Hiden with a simple conversion.

Still Littleton kept pressing and Reeves went close with a back header from Curtis Major's free-kick.

The third goal came on the stroke of half-time when Burrows fastened on to the ball and chipped the keeper from 25 yards.

The pattern was much the same in the second half and it was really a question of how many Littleton would score.

The final goal came 20 minutes from time when Robbie Harris burst down the right and his pinpoint cross was headed in by Burrows.

The game was sponsored by AMW Engineering of Stratford.

Littleton are at home again on the next two Saturdays when they entertain Kenilworth and Fernhill County Sports respectively on December 21 and 28.
