CHADDESLEY Corbett fear their title challenge may be all but ended after a disappointing 0-0 draw at lowly Malvern Town Reserves in West Midlands League Division One South.

They failed to create many clear-cut chances in a match lacking passion and dropped to second in the table despite extending their unbeaten run to nine games.

Chaddesley suffered an early blow, losing the consistent Stuart Jordan to an ankle injury on just two minutes.

Malvern's players showed more desire and hunger as they had the better of the first half without significantly troubling keeper Steve Parker.

Man-of-the-match Andy Birch forced the Malvern keeper into an excellent save with a 35-yard volley after a move involving Gavin Knight, Ian Vogel and Craig Pratt.

On 70 minutes, Gavin Davies latched onto a knock-down from a Richard Burton corner but his drive was cleared off the line.

Davies was later replaced by Neil Lucas, making his first-team debut as the 33rd player to be used this season.

But Malvern finished strongly and nearly snatched all three points 10 minutes from time when a 20-yard drive hit the post.

A mini-bus will leave The Land Oak at 12.15pm for Saturday's game away to Ledbury Town Reserves (2.45pm).
