DISTRACTION burglars carrying out a crime spree at farms across Worcestershire are thought to have attempted to strike in Chaddesley Corbett.
Now people living in rural areas have been urged to be on their guard.
Police were told two men had been spotted acting suspiciously in the lane leading to a farm, telling the owner they had seen a stray dog.
But nothing was stolen as the house was secured before a search was made for the dog on Tuesday, December 10.
There have been similar incidents in Belbroughton, Romsley and Redditch where property was stolen.
Crime risk manager Ian White, of Kidderminster Police, said: "If you are visited by anyone who tries to cause you to leave your house, make sure it is secure and, if possible, make sure someone stays in the house."
Anyone who has experienced a similar incident should call Kidderminster Police on 01562 820888.
