ATHLETICS: Dave Hall won Kidderminster and Stourport Athletic Club's Christmas Cracker 5k fun run on Sunday.

Hall completed the race from Stourport Sports Club in 17 minutes 40 seconds.

In second place was Matt Granger in 18-08 with Mark Roberts fourth overall and first U-16 in 18-38.

He was closely followed by Adam Granger, fifth overall and second U-16 in 19-28, Stuart Grainger (seventh in 20-14) and James Humphries.

Elizabeth Dourneen triumphed in the U-16s girls in 21-06.

Other times: Adam Roberts 22-02, Laura Easton 22-35, Aiden Dourneen 22-56, Emma Pead 23-40, Dave Jukes 26-08, John Gibbs 26-10, Sue Saunders 27-02, Joanne Dalton 27-39.

In the West Midland Young Athletes Cross Country League at Leamington, Fay Kitchen was third, E Dourneen fourth and Heidi Jarosinski 26th, giving them second team overall in the U-17s category.

For the U-15s, Ellie Laverty was 23rd, Pead 30th and Easton 44th, while Caroline Park (54th) and Charlotte Berrington (73rd) ran for the U-13s.

M Granger took seventh place in the U-17s boys, ahead of U-15s' Humphries and M Roberts who were 42nd and 54th respectively.

In the U-13s, A Roberts and Lewis Tandy were 26th and 58th. Tony Muir was 55th in the U-11s.

On Sunday, Steve Gould (one hour 11 minutes 30 seconds) and Karl Davies (1-21-0) braved the elements to run the Mortimer Forest Hill Race, coming sixth and 34th from a field of 300.

Gould finished sixth in 55-55 in the Sneyd 10-mile road race at Bloxwich the previous week.
