HOCKEY: Stourport's first and seconds were without a match but the thirds were well up to the task of being the club's top representatives.

They beat their visitors Edgbaston 9-0 with the ever-reliable David Knott scoring four and Phil Baldwin adding a hat-trick.

Edgbaston were no match as Stourport took control of midfield in a 4-4-2 formation, allowing Baldwin to convert with his first two touches of the ball.

Within 10 minutes, Knott had doubled the score to 4-0 and it was all one-way in the second period.

Mark McKinnon scored the goal of the game, beating three defenders, spinning on the edge of the circle and blasting home with an unstoppable shot.

Knott completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot before collecting another along with Baldwin before Steve Ellis wrapped up the game after Scott Dimmock's pass.

Belper 1 Stourport 4ths 7

There were five different scorers in a thrashing of high-flying Belper.

Andy Watson and Andy Pocknell scored two each with the others from Mike Taylor, Steve Odell and Godfrey Lamb.

Stourport 5ths 6 Bournville 4ths 4

Playing a higher side, the fifths played well to take the points with Robin Conway bagging a hat-trick.

Gareth Pritchard opened the scoring after just 10 minutes but Bournville forged 2-1 ahead only to be pegged back by Conway's vital equaliser just before the break.

Neil Stone unleashed a superb shot from a corner and the in-form David Bedford extended Stourport's lead when he drilled into an empty net from the top of the circle.

Conway completed his hat-trick and although Bournville scored twice more, the result was never in doubt.

Alistair Rosie was Stourport's man-of-the-match.

Stratford 4ths 2 Stourport 6ths 4

Without top scorer Frank Colwill to lead the line, Stourport could have found this a tricky fixture.

But Andy Martin, making his first outing as a player rather than umpiring, scored two goals, while others were added by Gareth Whale and Alastair McIntyre.

Young Mark Moss also made his debut for the team but again Ben Kenyon took man-of-the-match honours.

Stourport Ladies 1sts 3 Dudley 1

Against 10-player Dudley, Stourport forced the pace with Katie Clewes switched to left midfield in only her second firsts' match.

Stourport had the majority of the chances but failed to capitalise until the 25th minute when Kate Bailey struck her shot from the top of the D past the goalkeeper.

Wilma Martin scored twice after Stourport had also been reduced to 10 players following an injury.
