A duo will be bringing their brand of pop tunes to Worcester when they entertain party revellers on Christmas Eve.

Wilson will be singing some original tunes and cover versions when they play at RSVP in High Street.

Wilson are in fact half of pop band Pure, who featured on the Pulse pages around this time last year.

The four-piece boy band have since gone their separate ways, but ex-members Stuart Perry, aged 26, and Steve Wilson, 22, are now Wilson, with a bright future ahead of them.

The duo will be entertaining pub goers with six numbers at RSVP, including some Westlife and Darius covers interspersed with their own material.

"There's nothing out there in the market place at the moment with a duo, except H & Claire," says Stuart from Droitwich.

The gig starts at 9.30pm, but if you want to see a bit more of Stuart, an ex-Evening News employee then look no further than the Evening News' Acorn's Calendar.

Stuart stripped off for charity and is Mr March.

"It wasn't my best photo and I was slightly embarrassed," he says.

"It was picked at random - it's my first time doing something like this and probably my last.

"I think I'll stick to pop music!"

The band are currently under negotiations with London record company Telestar.

"There's a two single deal on the table at the moment," he says.

"We're hoping to sign in the New Year. They put us with a producer who did a demo of some of our songs.

"We're looking at what can be used for a release next year.

Stuart describes Wilson as a pop guitar band, with both members singing harmony.

"We will be singing to backing tracks at RSVP, but we normally use a guitarist and pianist and the drums are done by loops."

"Our gig at RSVP will be our first gig as Wilson."

The calendar can be bought from the Evening News reception in Hylton Road, or from the outlet in the Hop Market.
