A MOUNTAIN of seasonal parcels is waiting collection at Worcester's Royal Mail office.
This year's post has been described by one worker as "colossal" and an appeal has gone out from the delivery office at Westbury Street, Rainbow Hill, Worcester.
"We urge people to come and collect their parcels as soon as possible as we can hardly move," said front counter worker George Hawkins.
"The rise in the number of parcels ordered online puts the pressure on as they often have to be delivered by special or recorded delivery."
- Opening times for the Westbury Street delivery office have been extended in the
run-up to Christmas to cope with the extra workload. The new times are:
Monday to Saturday: 7am-4.30pm.
Sunday: 8am-noon.
Christmas Eve: 7am-noon
Christmas Day and Boxing Day: closed.
