THE best community projects in the county will be decided in a community pride competition run by the county council.
The winner of this year's Worcestershire County Council's Community Pride Competition will receive £5,000 and an award.
The competition, now in its 11th year, looks for projects that celebrate what is special about a particular place, improve the local environment and benefit local communities.
Celebrated
The competition is open to any community groups, schools in urban or rural areas, and town or parish councils that have organised, or are planning to organise, a community project during 2003 or 2003.
The county council is particularly looking for projects that celebrated the Queen's Golden Jubilee.
Any group interested in entering can collect a leaflet from County Hall, Worcester Woods Country Park or local libraries.
Further details are available from the county council's conservation and landscape team on 01905 766491.
