MALVERN LADIES 1, STOURPORT LADIES III 1
MALVERN hockey team continued their undefeated streak with a very well earned draw against a strong Stourport side.
Malvern played the whole match with only two players over 20 and the majority of their players were under 16 which bodes well for the future.
Stourport started strongly with several runs by their forwards but Malvern slowly started to take control of the game with Amy Forsyth having several shots saved by the keeper. Stourport scored against the run of play when their forward hit home from close range.
Malvern started the second half strongly and stopped Stourport from leaving their own half. After many close calls and great saves from the keeper Malvern finally equalised after leading scorer Amy Forsyth burst into the D, drew the keeper and calmly hit home for her seventh goal in six games.
Malvern continued to press but were unable to score the winning goal and the match ended 1-1.
Man of the match was Alice Wood for her support on and off the pitch.
Next match against Droitwich, meet 11am at the Chase.
