I was interested to read the article in today's Malvern Gazette (November 15), highlighting the appalling service offered by Central Trains for passengers travelling from Malvern.

I relocated to Malvern in August and decided to use the train to travel to my job in Worcester, rather than use my car. This has turned out to be a huge error of judgement. During this period of time, only four trains I have caught have actually been on time.

As well as the total lack of punctuality, many of the trains are dangerously overcrowded and there is a complete lack of information announcements at Malvern Link station.

It amazes me that Central Trains manage to create such mayhem day after day when they run so few trains on the line between Malvern and Worcester.

I wrote to Central Trains three weeks ago, also advising them that I thought their service would not be out of place in a 'Third World' country, but I have not received the courtesy of a reply.

In my opinion, the line between Malvern and Worcester should be turned into a metro-style tramway, similar to the one between Wolverhampton and Birming-ham, but not run by Central Trains, funnily enough!
