MADRESFIELD only managed a narrow win at home to lowly St Peters last week but for this game they were in a different mood.

MADRESFIELD 9, EEORE 1

With Gordie Mansell available, who led the attack in great style, and Steve Brookes and Chris O'Neil at the back, who have now formed a good partnership, things were always going to be difficult for the visitors.

Madresfield opened the scoring when a through ball from Stew Preece found Adam Morse and he left the defence trailing to go on and chip the keeper from 20 yards.

Ty Fisher then pounced on a half clearance to put the home side 2-0 up. Midway through the half Scott Philpotts, who had gone close on a number of occasions, played in Ty Fisher who beat three players before scoring a great goal that would have graced any game.

A deflected shot from Andy Simmons saw the home side go in 4-0 up at half time.

After the interval Eeore came out more determined but Madresfield would not let them get back into the game and when Stew Preece again found Adam Morse, he rounded the keeper for his second goal of the game.

Eeore were now hanging on grimly and even with Gavin Smith trying hard at the back to stem the constant attacks, a long cross was deflected to Adam Morse who tapped in for his hat-trick.

Madresfield were well in charge now and after numerous corners Stew Preece rifled in a powerful shot to make it 7-0.

Ty Fisher then followed up an effort from Mansell to complete his hat-trick before Gordie Mansell rounded several players to deservedly get himself on the scoresheet.

With time running out Eeore finally rounded off a series of good passes with a tap-in to complete the scoring.

Man of the match was Matt Brookes.
