IN this Bernard Finnegan second round cup tie, Express found themselves one down within ten minutes when they were caught square at the back.

PERDISWELL 2, EXPRESS 3

Veteran striker Stuart Summers restored parity on the half-hour mark only for Perdiswell to take advantage of Express' square defence again to leave the half time score at 2-1.

A shrewd tactical move from Express' stand-in manager, Duncan McKerracher, which saw the introduction of Ash and Mason to form a five-man midfield, allowed Express to take control of the game in the second half.

Express' three-man defence of Hadley, Henman and Evans was much more solid than in the first half and at the other end of the pitch they created several chances.

For all their possession, Express could still not find the elusive equaliser. With three minutes to go Express seemed to be heading out of the cup, but Jason Lloyd headed home a cross after some great work by Neil Bond. To complete the drama, Lloyd, with the last kick of the game, scored the winner taking Express into the last 16 of the cup.

On Sunday, Express entertain rivals Malvern Radar in the hope of repeating last month's 4-0 win. Players meet Victoria Park at 9.45am.
