AN exhibition commemorating the 50th anniversary of the closure of Upton's railway line will go on display at Upton CE Primary School tomorrow (Saturday).

The line between Ashchurch and Great Malvern closed on December 1, 1952. The exhibition, with photographs, railway memorabilia, uniforms and a small static model display, is being staged as part of this year's autumn fayre, organised to raise funds for the school.

"Pictures and local stories relating to the line are still sought for recording for the future," said Rupert Chambers, who is organising the exhibition. "There are many people who don't know that Upton had a station."

Other attractions being organised include a cake sale, tombola, raffle, crafts, pick-a-stick, truck challenge, spin to win game and, weather permitting, a bouncy castle and china plate smashing.

The event, which is being organised by the Friends of Upton Primary School, runs from 10am to 4pm.
