A DAY of experimentation and discovery took place at Upton CE Primary School this week.
Normal lessons were put on hold for a day devoted completely to science, with each year group tackling different areas of study.
A morning assembly on Wednesday (November 20) devoted to great inventions, was followed by a series of different activities.
The youngest pupils investigated materials through making teddy bear collages, biscuits and puppets, while those in the year above studied forces and their effects. Light and shadow, heat and cold, earth and space and separating mixtures were examined by other pupils throughout the school.
"It was extremely good," said headteacher Mark Mumby. "Everyone worked very hard and the staff and children all had a wonderful time and learnt a lot about science."
A similar event will now take place every term.
