A CELEBRATION of two of the most recognisable British cars ever produced is to take place at the Three Counties Show-ground on December 8.

Minis and Morris Minors will be taking over the Avon and Wye Halls during the Mighty Mini and Morris Minor Bash.

A huge variety of stalls, displays and cars from down the years since designer Sir Alec Issigonis first put pen to drawing board in 1948 will be set up between 10am and 4pm.

"It's different, because we've got the two types of car together," said organiser Ian Green. "Some of them go back an awful long way, and there's a huge following for them."

The centrepiece of the show will be a brand new old-style racing green Mini Cooper, worth £11,000, which MG Rover Group have donated as a raffle prize.

Tickets, priced £25 each, are available by sending a self-addressed envelope to Greens UK, PO Box 25, Malvern WR14 3NY, and all profits will be donated to the Royal Orth-opaedic Hospital in Birming-ham.

Anyone who owns a Mini or Morris Minor can turn up on the day and show their car off. Owners are being encouraged to come dressed in fashions from the time their car was produced, with prizes for the best-turned-out cars and owners. More information on the show is available on 01684 575902, and entry will be £5.
