RICHARD Chamings, of the UK Independence Party, was slightly inaccurate in his letter about the Cardinal's Hat affair (You Say, November 1).
The European Directive he cites was specifically amended to enable Britain to sell draught beer and cider in pint measures as well as litres. The law that insists that only pint measures can be used was made in Westminster.
Liz Lynne, the Liberal Democrat MEP for the West Midlands, has given her support to the Cardinal's Hat precisely to underline the fact that, on this issue, the EU is entirely blameless.
