DREWE Broughton was more dis-appointed than most when Kidder-minster Harriers Nationwide League Division Three clash at Torquay United was washed out last Saturday.

In the previous match at Swansea the hard-working striker had ended his goal famine by hitting the target in a 4-0 victory at the Vetch Field.

It was his long-awaited first goal of the season which encouraged to try to repeat the medicine against Torquay - until the match was called off half an hour before kick-off because of a waterlogged pitch.

The postponement has meant a frustrating delay until this afternoon's clash with Carlisle United at Aggborough for him to add to his solitary strike.

The 24-year-old former Peterborough United campaigner said: "It's weird because everyone is saying I should be feeling happy now I have got a goal. If I had got four or five goals it would be different. What's one goal? It could be a deflection or an accident or anything. It's nice to have scored, but I still have to concentrate on getting more.

"I am a striker and I am assessed on goals. I am driven by scoring goals. If I am getting chances then I know my game is good enough and I feel like I am doing that."

Broughton, meanwhile, is about to get the ideal chance to start building a useful goals tally during Harriers forthcoming hectic spell.

After today's clash with Carlisle, they entertain Swindon Town on Tuesday in the LDV Vans Trophy and then take on Rushden & Diamonds at Aggborough in the FA Cup next Saturday.

The following Tuesday they visit Torquay for a re-arranged league game with Oxford United being the visitors to Aggborough two weeks today.
