Harriers' equaliser breathed new life into the team as they surged forward despite having only 10 men.

Carlisle subsitute Foran picked up a booking on 71 minutes for a foul on Foster.

The visitors then brought on McDonagh for Baldacchino a minute later.

The home side were forcing the pace without testing keeper Glennon and they had goalscorer Flynn booked on 75 minutes for a foul.

Carlisle made their last substitution on 81 minutes with Maddison on for Byrne in a straight swap.

But the game exploded into life again on 84 minutes when Osman's shot was turned home by substitute McDonagh.

Then in injury time a high challenge by McDonagh on Shilton resulted in a dust up between both sets of players.

The Carlisle player was shown the red card and Harriers skipper Flynn received his second yellow for becoming involved in the resulting skirmish.

There was no end to the controversy as Harriers gained a mystery penalty in injury time, presumably for a push after Melligan flighted a free kick into the box following the previous incident.

Harriers had a great chance to level the match but Foster's weak penalty was well saved to his left by Glennon who ensured Carlisle went away with all three points.
