MALVERN Town, fresh from their FA Carlsberg Vase success at Brierley Hill on Saturday, visit Gornal Athletic tomorrow (Saturday) in the Express and Star West Midlands League Premier Division (2.45pm).

Town have now gone five games without defeat, after an inconsistent start, and will be hoping to continue to make up ground on the sides above them, and force their way into a challenging position.

For tomorrow's trip to Gornal, Town welcome back striker Dean Roberts and midfielder Adam Ward, both of whom missed last Saturday's Vase tie.

But Dean Whittal-Williams loan spell from Lancaster is now concluded and the talented youngster is expected to link up with the Unibond Premier Division side from this Saturday onwards.

Looking ahead to Saturday's game, Town general manager, Richard Anson said: "We are going well now and I would expect us to return with all three points.

"But you never know in football, and we will have to be at our best, if we are to keep the run going.

"However, we have not had an easy start, and despite drawing a number of games, these results have tended to be against the league's better sides and we are confident that we will still be there or thereabouts, come the final reckoning."

For the Gornal game, Town will select from: Alden, Williams (J), Cannon, Clayton, Williams (C), Wade, Ward, Halion, Walker, Hooper, Roberts, Cox, Azor, Goodman , Owen and Jones.

On Monday (September 30), Town visit Pegasus Juniors in the Worcester Senior Urn First Round (7.30pm).

The Urn has been a successful competition for Town in recent years, having reached the semi final last season and being defeated finalists the year before and winners the year before that.

A Barry Hughes goal secured Town Reserves their first West Midlands League Division One (S) points, following a 1-1 draw against their previously pointless opponents, Malvern Rangers, at the Langland Stadium last Saturday.

Tomorrow (Saturday) the Town Reserves are at home to Blackheath in another league fixture (2.45pm).
