MALVERN Town entertain Tividale at the Langland Stadium tomorrow (Saturday) at 2.45pm, and will be looking for three points to help them pull away from the lower reaches of the Express and Star West Midlands League Premier Division.

But Town general manager Richard Anson remains optimistic and said: "We played Gornal off the park on Saturday, yet somehow contrived to lose, obviously we have to take responsibility for that, but if you look at our results, we have only lost one in our last seven games, the only problem being that three of our victories have been in cup competitions.

"But we are not a bad side and we all remain very confident that we will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.

"Like us, Tividale are a better side than their league position suggests and at Bromyard on Tuesday (7.45pm), with a number of ex Town players in their side they will, I am sure, have a point to prove, but we are not playing badly and on our day can match the best, but we need to start picking up league points from now on in."

For both games Town will select from: Alden, Cannon, Williams (C), Clayton, Owen, Ward, Walker, Halion, Wade, Goodman, Hooper, Roberts, Cox, Williams (L), Azor and Cotterill.

The Town Reserves went down to a disappointing 2-0 WFA Senior Cup 1st Round tie defeat at Inkberrow on Saturday, and this Saturday visit Malvern Rangers in the Worcester Nursing Cup.

The game was originally scheduled to be played at the Langland Stadium, but with Town not wanting to postpone a Saturday first team game and the clubs unable to agree a midweek date, the organisers decided that the game should be switched to Victoria Park.

The Town U18s missed out on a first round proper FA Youth Cup trip to Peterborough United, when they went down 3-0 to Cradley Heath on Wednesday night.

Next Thursday (October 10), Town are at home to Stourbridge in the first round of the Midland Youth League Cup (7.45pm).
