THEY breed them tough down in Gloucester and this side was no exception.

MALVERN U9s v HUCCLECOTE U9s

Having played together for three years and wiped the floor with some of the opposition, Hucclecote came to Malvern expecting to win. And win they did, but they knew that they'd been in a game!

Malvern's depleted squad played for nearly an hour against their guests who had the luxury of being able to substitute tired players from their ample reserves. Despite this, the Malvern lads played with spirit and tenacity, scoring try for try against their more experienced opponents, only conceding the day in the final session with Matt Wren and Nat Wallis both injured and bravely playing on.

Two tries in it at the end, against more experienced opposition. Malvern can be proud of the fact that the Hucclecote coach conceded that they were the hardest opposition that they had come across.

Sam Page and Eric Carlen share this week's man of the match honour, Sam for his fearless tackling and Eric for his work rate.

Training this Sunday, 10.15am.

Malvern would also like to increase the squad, so come on down all you 8 year olds and be part of the MRFC future.
