AFTER two weeks without a league game, Malvern Ladies hockey team travelled to Birmingham to take on Bournville Ladies Thirds.
BOURNVILLE LADIES III 1, MALVERN LADIES 2
On a wet and windy afternoon Malvern attacked from the start but were unable to break down the Bournville defence. Bournville took the lead from their first attack when a mix up in the Malvern defence allowed an attacker to hit home from close range.
Malvern continued to attack but were unable to score, they finally equalised from a short corner when after several shots the ball fell to Alice Wood who calmly hit the ball home from ten yards.
Malvern then took the lead with a great individual goal from Amy Forsyth who left several defenders in her wake and hit home from the edge of the D. Half time 1-2.
Malvern continued to attack in the second half but were unable to add to their score, final score 1-2, a hard earned win.
Next match tomorrow (Saturday) 12.30pm pushback at Malvern Boys College.
