PHIL Mullen is backing his Evesham United side to become dragon slayers and exact revenge on Merthyr Tydfil when they travel to Wales in the Dr Martens Western Division tomorrow (3pm).
Merthyr have a fierce reputation and ditched the Robins out of the FA Trophy with a 2-0 defeat but confidence is high in the United camp after last week's 6-0 thrashing of Racing Club Warwick.
"I'm feeling confident with the team as a whole and getting a result at Warwick was a boost for us because it's the kind of place that a lot of sides come unstuck, especially teams that want to play a bit," said Mullen.
Victory at Warwick took Evesham's goal tally to 11 goals in their last two matches with Kidderminster Harriers loan striker Matt Lewis bagging five of them including a debut hat-trick.
"The lad's got ability and has definitely got an eye for goal he's proved that," said Mullen.
"He's arrived here to be toughened up and get some competitive action but I've no doubt he can make it in the Football League.
"He's a good player and has got a bright future."
Mark Wolsey's comeback has been delayed further and the midfielder will have keyhole surgery to mend a chipped bone in his ankle.
