PUPILS who get the bus to Dyson Perrins High School from Powick and Callow End can now travel in safety.
Since September, some pupils have been forced to stand in the aisle because of the lack of available seats on the single-deck school bus.
Alarmed parents contacted county councillor Tom Wells, who pledged to look into the matter.
"It was a long struggle but First Midland Red eventually found a double-decker bus they could use on the route," he said.
However, the route which starts in Worcester, had to be altered first, since it passed under a bridge with 14ft headroom. The double-decker is 13ft 9ins tall.
There were also problems when the bus was vandalised in its depot last week, with windows worth £250 smashed.
On Monday, the bus went into action for the first time after the half-term.
Coun Wells said: "Pupils can get to school safely and everyone is happy. It's the only double-decker bus operational in the county."
