SECONDARY school pupils in the Malvern area are being given a mini CD to encourage them to help police fight crime and drug abuse.
The CD contains internet hyperlinks with immediate access to relevant websites for information and helplines on a range of health issues.
It has been produced by a coalition of bodies including the Malvern Hills Community Safety Partnership and Druglink.
The mini CD, which is the size of a business card, is currently being issued and more than 9,000 pupils and 200 teachers this year will have been involved with the project by the time it is completed.
"One of the major factors in helping to control crime is reliable intelligence and young people could play a key role in providing information as, in many cases, they are more aware than adults of what is going on the street," said Steve Hill, from West Mercia Crimestoppers.
The disk was produced by pupils and staff at the Chantry High School, Martley.
