IN reply to Mr Clayton (Your Letters, November 1), who thinks that Avenue Road Surgery should not be moved 'out of town' due solely to traffic problems.

May I inform him of the years of hard work the surgery has put into looking for a site and the recently publicised planning refusal for a surgery in Great Malvern town centre.

Avenue Road Surgery has been too small for years with nurses having to alternate their hours to share one room. Parking has been congested both on Avenue Road and on Court Road.

Perhaps Mr Clayton might consider that moving one surgery out of Barnards Green might actually enhance the Green and allow locals to park for the purpose of shopping.

A more helpful use of spare time might be to look at public transport issues. If anyone reading this is concerned buses may not serve them at the new surgery, then getting in touch with the bus companies would be a good use of time.

MRS A C HERMISTON (ex-receptionist, Avenue Road Surgery), Madresfield Road, Malvern.
