TALBOT Head extended their lead at the top of the Soccer Site Malvern Football League with an excellent home win over reigning champions Bull Allstars.

Bull Allstars, who had not lost a league game in the Malvern Football League since May 20, 2001, found themselves on the back foot against a determined Talbot Head side who have started the season with great promise and with a defensive record now the best in the division.

Matt Barry was the goalscorer hitting the headlines for the home side as he helped them to a two-goal advantage before Paul James brought the score to within one goal for the leaders.

Matt Barry completed his hat-trick in the second half to take a 3-1 lead before extensive pressure on the Talbot Head defence brought Bull Allstars back to within a goal with another strike from Paul James.

With Bull Allstars trying to maintain their unbeaten record they powered forward in search of the equaliser, however after six minutes of injury time the game concluded it was an outstanding victory for Talbot Head allowed them to take a four point lead over their opposition and remain top for the second week in succession.

Talbot Head manager David Benson was understandably delighted with his side's performance having remained unbeaten in the league, since their 2-1 loss at Green Dragon on September 8.

Morgan Aero 8 moved up one place and into sixth position after a 9-0 away victory over West Midlands, who are still searching for their first points of the season. The goals for the visitors were shared between Andrew Noon, who hit a hat-trick, Michael Griffin (2), Alan Berrow (2), Jordan Miller (1) and Jamie Boswell (1) to round off a good victory for Morgan Aero 8 following a two week absence from competition.

In the only other league fixture to take place on Sunday St Peters held out Eeore for the majority of the 90 minutes on Perdiswell, Worcester, before the last few minutes saw Eeore finally break the deadlock. They opened up the floodgates to score three goals in quick succession to come out 3-0 winners.

Kempsey United Reserves' rearranged WFA Sunday Minor Cup round two fixture away at Lower Moor United started promisingly for Kempsey as Simon Vaughan helped them to a 1-0 lead in the first half. However a strong Lower Moor side, who play their football in the Evesham League, overpowered the Kempsey team to eventually record a 6-1 victory.

Fromes Hill suffered a similiar fate against Herefordshire League opposition as they bowed out of the HFA Sunday Cup by 7-0 to Rapid Moorlands.

In the U18s Youth Division Bromsgrove Town moved into second position in the table with a 3-1 home result against Barnards Green Juniors. James Allton, James Nicholas and Steven Wright were on target for Bromsgrove as they recorded their fourth win of the season. Barnards Green Juniors, who are lacking a regular specialist goalkeeper, had Rob Evans to thank for their consolation keeping them in fourth position.

Bull Allstars make their debut in the Worcester Royal Infirmary Sunday Junior Cup on Sunday as they play Ringspanners and in the Minor Cup competition Fromes Hill entertain Alvechurch Sports and Social, Brewery travel the short distance to Malvern Radar and Club AC 30 play AFC Mazak.

In the league Kempsey United Reserves host expected title challengers Green Dragon and Talbot Head visit Morgan Aero 8.
