I FIND it very sad that John Hinton and the pathetic George Cowley have responded to my observations by referring to the Second World War.
Considering I was born after this event, I feel that my involvement was somewhat small. May I also refer them both to Wilfred Owen.
The Old Lie: Dulce et decorum est Prop patria mori.
However, I do not wish to complain about such small-mindedness. My complaint here is that of litter.
Why is it that when walking through the city centre on Sunday mornings I find interspersed amongthe vomit an ocean of takeaway wrappers.
I find it very unsatisfactory that such a situation exists. In my home time of Trier, the streets are cleaned without fail twice a day at 6am and 6pm.
However, this is not often needed as Germans do not drop litter in the way the British do.
