ALAN Price, who enjoyed both group and solo success in the 1960s, will conjure up musical memories when he plays at The Theatre, Chipping Norton on Sunday.

Tickets are likely to be limited for the return visit of the keyboard player and composer, who found his earliest success with the Animals, with hits like The House of the Rising Sun.

He followed that up with his own group - the Alan Price Set - and was well known for his collaborations with another sixties hit-maker, Georgie Fame.

He branched out into film scores, for movies by Lyndsey Anderson, and wrote for musicals, such as Andy Capp and Who's a Lucky Boy?

The Chipping Norton show - An Evening with Alan Price - will be an anecdotal journey through his career, which will range from the British rock 'n' roll and blues scene of the late 1950s through to the present day. It will be peppered with tales of music greats like Bob Dylan and occasionally cross the Atlantic and beyond.

Price was elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and awarded the Gold Badge of Merit by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.

The box office number is 01608 642350.
