HAVING recently closed one rest home - Kateshill - due to Wyre Forest District Council's narrow planning guidelines and the lack of financial viability of the current Social Services policy, I fully support Mr Sadik's (owner of Wolverley Court) comments, in the Shuttle/Times and News on September 26.

I currently own and operate Redthorne Rest Home in Bewdley, but I have to employ more staff due to the increasing bureaucracy imposed by ever-growing legislation.

If we were paid the going rate for the service we provide, we would be prepared to put up with this, but as it stands, homeowners and the more affluent residents, are currently subsidising the state residents.

It makes no economic sense and will lead to more closures.
