THE Redditch & Alcester Group of the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway started the new season of monthly meetings by celebrating the 21st anniversary of the formation of the GWR in the form of a slide show by member Eddie Roberts.
His pictures followed the progress from the first pieces of track being laid to give a run of 400 yards through to the present situation where next year will see a run of 10 miles.
From the first small locos through to visits by the world famous Flying Scotsman and City of Truro, all this has been achieved by unpaid volunteers working for the love of their hobby.
