WINTER came early for a former Abbey High School student when she took part in adrenaline-pumping sports at the British Army's ice camp in Norway.
Julia Cartwright, who is serving with the Royal Signals, was among 150 novices taking part in the event, which is now in its fourth year.
It gives soldiers of any rank the chance to try bobsleigh and luge on the Olympic run at Lillehammer.
