ALCESTER'S Richard Brenda took bronze in the British cadet (under 17s) sabre fencing championships at Whitchurch Leisure Centre, Bristol.
Brother Thomas, 16, went out in the quarter finals to Northern Ireland's Kit Rumney, who went on to lose to eventual winner Harry Moncrieff.
David Brenda, 17, and Thomas both earned last 16 places in the junior event with Thomas progressing after knocking out Richard in the previous round.
